St. Patrick's Day Dance
Our dances continue to be a big success! Everyone has a great time and leaves with a smile on their face. This St. Patrick's Day dance was no different!
You could see a sea of green shirts on the dance floor while all that attended danced the night away to the great music the DJ was playing. The only break many participants took was to enjoy a slice or two of pizza. It was a great night socializing with friends, something we always love to see here at South East!

Valentine's Day Dance
What’s better than Valentine’s Day falling on a Friday? A
South East Consortium Valentines dance on a Friday night!
Participants cut a rug and shook a tail feather last Friday
night at the Posillipo Center in Rye Brook to the sweet sounds of DJ Mike. These dances are a fan favorite here at South
East bringing out large numbers of party goers. Many participants dance until
they can’t dance anymore.
Apart from being a great physical outlet dancing is great
medium of expression and a wonderful opportunity to socialize with peers.
Several Friday night groups spent the first half of the
evening eating dinner on Mamaroneck Avenue and being bused over by SEC
transportation afterwards. While two other Friday night groups met at the dance
and hoped right onto the floor.
After DJ Mike packed up his gear the crowd enjoyed some
sweet Valentine’s Day cake and wrote some cards to friends, family and maybe
even a special unsuspecting sweetheart.
Valentine’s Day can serve a loving pick me up during a cold
and dark month. It was a warm and joyous occasion to be with so many good
friends this Valentine’s Day.

Luau Party
Aloha! After a busy summer season South East Consortium
participants, family and friends were able to kick their feet up (or let their
hair down) at the SEC Family Luau this past Saturday at the Harbor Island
Pavilion in Mamaroneck.
Everyone danced the evening away to the bumping sounds of DJ
Mike. Favorites such as Cotton Eye Joe, the Cha Cha and hit songs from Grease
and High School Musical electrified the dance floor.
“DJ Mike is the best! I love dancing with all my friends at
South East parties,” said T.J. Marchese, a long time South East participant.
There was no pig on a spit but the grill was manned
masterfully by Gina Jones and her husband Jeremy. It was the perfect
party-by-the beach meal of hot dogs, chips, juice and to top it off fresh
sliced watermelon.
Lawn games abounded on the beach. An intense game of
volleyball quickly developed between staff and participants, hula hoops were
spinning and Frisbees were flying.
After some dicey weather at the start of the BBQ the weather
settled down producing a picturesque sunset on the Harbor. It wasn’t Hawaii but
it was a little piece of paradise for all who attended. Aloha!
